About NSS

Ministry of Education and culture, Govt. of India, in collaboration with state Government the National Service Scheme was started by Government of India.The scheme was launched in Gandhi‘centenary year in 1969. Aimed at developing student’s personality through community service, NSS is a voluntary association of young people at Colleges, Universities and at + 2 level working for a campus- community.

This report covers the NSS activities of our college that took place during 2015-16 to 2019-2020. As the academic year starts with 100 NSS volunteers both girls and boys every year in the college participated effectively.

The NSS unit of our college have been conducted various activities every year ranging from Awareness programs like Health awareness, Youth awareness, AIDS awareness, Legal awareness. Lectures programs like Legal awareness, Personality development. Rally on Swatch Bharath Abhiyan, National voter’s day, National Environment day, Competitions like Drawing, Essay, Pick and Speech, Lecture Quiz, Rangoli, Mehandi, Food without fire, Hairstyle,Plantations programs, Literary programs, Adolescence and Camps. Like. (Blood donation, Eye checkup, Dental checkup, Health checkup etc.State, National and International festivals celebrated every year and honored the achievers.The government of Karnataka, University of Davangere has recognized and given a ‘Best NSS unit Award’& Cash prize during 2016.

• On 21.01.2016 to27.01.2016 Inter university level camp was conducted in S. M.S.COLLEGE,HEREKALMATTA HONNALI. 2 NSS VOLUNTEERS Participated.

• On 15.03.2016 to21.03.2016 UNIVERSITY level camp was conducted N.I.C. CAMP AT DAVANGERE UNIVERSITY CAMPUS and Mr. Vasanth Kumar Participated as a Program Officer (2 days)

• Special village camp in Kakkaragolla DavangereDist and Tq 2016-17 from:22.02.2017 to 28.03.2017.

• On17.1.2017Red Ribbon clubinaugurated by Dr. Tribulamba, D.H.O & Dr. Rashaan D.M.O, C. G Hospital,Davangere.

• On 05.02.2017 to11.02.2017Dist level camp was conducted byGiriyammaF.G. College, Harihara. InHosahally village. 3 N.S.S volunteers participated.

• On 03.03.2017 To 09.03.2017 University level camp was conducted N.I.C Camp atDavangere University campus.2volunteers participated.

• On 8.9.2017 Pre R.D Campin University 6 N.S.S volunteers participated.

• On 28.9.2017 Statelevel R.D camp in G.K.V.K. campus,Bangalore. KumariPrathibharepresented our college.

• On 27.12.2017 Statelevel work shop onParisaraMananacollabarated with an NGO,BangalorebyProf. Eshwara Prasad, Prof. Kaliwal, Vice-Chancellor, Davangere University, Davangere.

• On 22.01.2018 to22.01.2018 Dist. level camp was conducted byG.F.G.CollegeHonnaliatSunkadakatte,HonnaliTq. 5 N.S.S volunteers Participated.

• On 24.01.2018 to 30.01.2018 District level camp was conducted by G.F.G.College, Harapanahalli. 5 N.S.S volunteersparticipated.

• On 18.02.2018 to 24.02.2018 Statelevel camp was conducted at HanagavadivillagenearMythrivana, N.H-4. 3 volunteersparticipated.

• On 10.3.2018to 16 03.2018 Inter College level camp was conducted byGiriyammaF.G.College,HariharaatErebudihal,HariharaTq. 6 N.S.S volunteers were participated.

• On 24.03.2018 to 30.03.2018 N.I.C Camp was conducted atDavangere Universitycampus. 4 volunteers participated.

• On 30.03.2018 our college’sN.S.S unit was awarded “BEST N.S.S UNIT”award and cash prize byDavangere University.

• On 24.01.2019 to 30.01.2019 Dist level camp was conducted by G.F.G.College Bharamasagara, ChitradurgaDist at Kotehal, ChannagiriTq. 5 N.S.Svolunteers participated.

ABOUT US

Davanagere, situated in the heart of Karnataka, is a fast growing city. It is the nerve centre of trade and commerce, the heart throb and the abode of large hearted donors. The credit of putting Davanagere on the National and International map goes to Bapuji Educational Association. B.E.A. came into existence in the year 1958 and now it has become a house hold name in Karnataka, pursuing excellence in the field of education, thanks to the vision, farsightedness and large heartedness of its Hon. Secretary, popular Dr. Shamanur Shivashankarappa. As many as 47 educational institutions from primary to post graduate courses are nursed and nurtured by the association. All these institutions have been rendering memorable service to the society and the nation as a whole. The evolution of Bapuji Educational Association has led to the significant growth of Davanagere. The Association has taken every care, at every step to facilitate the smooth growing of all its family members.
