The most significant of all the personalities responsible for all round development of this association is Dr.ShamanurShivashankarappa, the present Hon. Secretary of the association. There are a number of philanthropists on the board of BEA who have been rendering selfless service to the cause of education. Dr.ShamanurShivashankarappa is a doyen in the field of education. His contribution to the cause of higher education is immense and invaluable. Under his leadership, BEA has been able to make an indelible impression in the educational map of this country. He is the Member of Legislative Assembly of Karnataka, served as Member of Parliament and was the former minister of Horticulture and APMC, Govt. of Karnataka.

Sri. S.S. Mallikarjun was the Hon'ble Minister for Horticulture and APMC, Govt. of Karnataka. A young and popular politician and industrialist, is the proud son of Smt. Parvathamma and Sri. ShamanurShivashankarappa. Sri Mallikarjun has been successfully working for the welfare of the general public, particularly the downtrodden and economically weaker sections of the society. He is the icon of the youth of Davangere and is highly innovative and progressive in his thinking. He is a member of the Governing council of BIET and Joint secretary of BEA.

Davanagere, situated in the heart of Karnataka, is a fast growing city. It is the nerve centre of trade and commerce, the heart throb and the abode of large hearted donors. The credit of putting Davanagere on the National and International map goes to Bapuji Educational Association. B.E.A. came into existence in the year 1958 and now it has become a house hold name in Karnataka, pursuing excellence in the field of education, thanks to the vision, farsightedness and large heartedness of its Hon. Secretary, popular Dr. Shamanur Shivashankarappa. As many as 47 educational institutions from primary to post graduate courses are nursed and nurtured by the association. All these institutions have been rendering memorable service to the society and the nation as a whole. The evolution of Bapuji Educational Association has led to the significant growth of Davanagere. The Association has taken every care, at every step to facilitate the smooth growing of all its family members.
